Don't get me wrong, I'd not turn my nose up at a 7mm Mag ever. It's a time tested winner and certainly more powerful than the -08 cartridge. Just that my 7mm-08 was ore accurate. I'm happy to report that this Rem 700 SPS is following in the 788's shoes. Right out of the box it shot under an inch. With my first handloads it shrunk to 1/2 inch groups. I don't know if I can improve on that very much with the way I shake now-a-days, but it gives me an excuse, er, reason to hit the range each week!
