I had the honor of reading the following post on one of my fellow Homespun Blogger’s site. The site is Latino Issues operated by Josue Sierra of Annandale, Virginia.
For those that might have wondered. Also, I’ll be on the Tammy Bruce radio show at 1PM Easter time. You can listen online here.
The rallies you see today do not speak for a majority of legal immigrants in this nation. They do not speak for me. While we are all free to disagree with our government, these rallies amount to an ungratefull entitlement on top of a mockery of our legal system.
Mark my words–this is going to backfire on them. America has woken up to the reality of reconquista–a minority but a real threat–and to the problem of illegal immigration. To top it off, to most American citizens, the release of “Nuestro Himon” is an alarming afront on the traditions of the American culture. This is not the way for illegal immigrants to gain a popularity contest as a guest in a foreign country.
This is my comment on his post:
Simply, Thank you from one American to another.
Any human that wants to enter this Country *LEGALLY* is more than welcome to come here, do their thing, and get disgustingly rich. I will be the first in line to shake their hand and congradulate them on a job well done - and I’m a very poor native-born white American.
Josue is right, of course. There will be a backlash. In fact, it is already happening here in Alabama. There is much talk of simply firing those employees who failed to show up for work today, (Alabama is a so-called “Right-to-Work” state. That means they can pretty much let you go whenever they wish.), and a boycott of our own on the establishments owned by immigrants and closed today in support of this foolishness. If the immigrants think a one-day boycott will hurt the Nation, then let’s see what a month long boycott of the restaurants and other small businesses does to the immigrants!
As I said in my comment above, it isn’t a problem if someone wants to come here LEGALLY. It is the ILLEGAL immigrants, and the insecure border, that are the issue. America can not open its doors to everyone and to even attempt to do so is National suicide. This is true of any nation. Perhaps our Government can’t see that, (especially with elections looming), but the citizens - both Native-born and naturalized immigrants - do see that fact. So, if the Government will not take action, or is buffaloed by this wee demonstration of “idiots flying foreign flags”, We the People will take action. If that means a few Mexican restaurants must be closed due to sudden financial failure, so be it.
Kind of a shame, too. I really enjoyed Mexican food…
