Minuteman Flag Raising
May 20, 2006
It was a clear, hot, windy day. The Minutemen sat the end of the flag pole on the ground, tilted it skyward, lowered it in its foundation hole, and sat it permanently on a hilltop looking back at America and directly at Mexico across the border.

It can be seen for miles and miles in every direction. It is a claim by American Patriots of their Sovereignty. A Border Patrol helicopter flew by during the ceremonial placing of the flag.
The flag is 8 feet by 12 feet and nests on a flag pole reaching 35 feet toward the sky. The wind folds and unfolds the flag, and it snaps at anyone near.
The location is Patriot Point at Campo, California. Campo is a Minuteman Project observation point for observing and reporting illegal entry into America.
Sincerely,
Stephen Eichler (I was there.)
