Ha! This is better. That first quiz freaked me out a bit so I thought I should see how I stand with God. Vast improvement over the last one…

Here, take a look at my little girl. She’s doubled her length and multiplied her weight several times since she came home with me. When grown she’ll be around 6 feet long and weight a whopping 30 to 40 pounds! Blood pythons don’t grow terribly long but get enormously thick.

Some days you’re just “on”. Today was my day. For some reason I simply could do no wrong! Rare though they are, days like this are really welcome when they do occur. Take a look at this target. I fired this group at 200 meters with a Thomson/Center Encore, .204 Ruger. The .20 caliber holes are tiny, but are still visable. The widest point of the group is 5/8 inch center-to-center.

By the third shot I was seriously nervous. On the fourth I was nearly too scared to pull the trigger. On the fifth shot I was in a full-blown panic! Groups like this just don’t happen at that range. Never for me – and I’m a pretty good shot with a rifle.
I also fired some 20 rounds at the long range gongs with the 7mm-08 Remington, the 200 meter gongs with the Winchester Trapper, and got in some pistol practice with the Rugers, (.22 & .45 Colt). All-in-all a great day despite the weather which was either raining or threatening rain the entire morning.
Snakes were also on the menu. I was struck once on the boot by a water snake at the 100 meter line, and caught three others on the road out after I left. Interesting day. ![]()
Please, if you read this blog, then make the time to read “Greg’s Notes“. This is the blog of one of America’s Heroes. Greg is home from Iraq, but now is fighting his toughest battle over in Mississippi – Colon cancer. He’s a tough one all right, but as anyone with serious medical issues knows, you can’t have too many friends at a time like this.
Also check out his wife’s blog, “Two Blue Lines“. Here is another kind of American Hero – the wife of a soldier, sailor, airman, or Marine that keeps the family unit functioning with half of her fighting in a foreign land. She has her own interesting job as well. I’ll not tell. Go read!
Our hopes and prayers go out to this family in their time of need.

I had the honor of reading the following post on one of my fellow Homespun Blogger’s site. The site is Latino Issues operated by Josue Sierra of Annandale, Virginia.
For those that might have wondered. Also, I’ll be on the Tammy Bruce radio show at 1PM Easter time. You can listen online here.
The rallies you see today do not speak for a majority of legal immigrants in this nation. They do not speak for me. While we are all free to disagree with our government, these rallies amount to an ungratefull entitlement on top of a mockery of our legal system.
Mark my words–this is going to backfire on them. America has woken up to the reality of reconquista–a minority but a real threat–and to the problem of illegal immigration. To top it off, to most American citizens, the release of “Nuestro Himon” is an alarming afront on the traditions of the American culture. This is not the way for illegal immigrants to gain a popularity contest as a guest in a foreign country.
This is my comment on his post:
Simply, Thank you from one American to another.
Any human that wants to enter this Country *LEGALLY* is more than welcome to come here, do their thing, and get disgustingly rich. I will be the first in line to shake their hand and congradulate them on a job well done – and I’m a very poor native-born white American.
Josue is right, of course. There will be a backlash. In fact, it is already happening here in Alabama. There is much talk of simply firing those employees who failed to show up for work today, (Alabama is a so-called “Right-to-Work” state. That means they can pretty much let you go whenever they wish.), and a boycott of our own on the establishments owned by immigrants and closed today in support of this foolishness. If the immigrants think a one-day boycott will hurt the Nation, then let’s see what a month long boycott of the restaurants and other small businesses does to the immigrants!
As I said in my comment above, it isn’t a problem if someone wants to come here LEGALLY. It is the ILLEGAL immigrants, and the insecure border, that are the issue. America can not open its doors to everyone and to even attempt to do so is National suicide. This is true of any nation. Perhaps our Government can’t see that, (especially with elections looming), but the citizens – both Native-born and naturalized immigrants – do see that fact. So, if the Government will not take action, or is buffaloed by this wee demonstration of “idiots flying foreign flags”, We the People will take action. If that means a few Mexican restaurants must be closed due to sudden financial failure, so be it.
Kind of a shame, too. I really enjoyed Mexican food…
