The Bull has spent the morning answering phones for the Rescue and reading commentary from across the Web concerning World events. Something has become sickenly evident. Here’s what I’ve found:
Earth stands on the brink of World War III. Far closer than we have been since the Cuban Missile Crisis. Even that horrifying 1962 event really didn’t have the volitility of what is happening in the world stage today. Then there were only two well-armed, but also well trained and highly disiplined, nation-states in a stand-off. Not now. Now we have a miriad of small groups led by madmen, fueled by religious hatred, and staffed by brain-washed youth. These groups are being secretly fed arms and money by a couple of rogue nation-states (Syria and Iran) with other agendas they wish to be kept out of the eye of the World – until they are ready.
So these terrorist are sent out to cause as much meyhem as possible, to attack Israel – their hated enemy. Israel, a legally formed, well established nation finds its citizens and military personel kidnapped and/or murdered. Israeli cities are hit by rockets fired out of a neighboring nation, Lebanon, apparently with no concern from the Lebanese government. Meanwhile, from the areas Israel is attempting to turn over to the so-called Palatinians, more attacks are made into Israel proper. The more Israel gives, the more they pay in blood.
The World’s answer is that Israel should ‘temper’ its response to the attacks. Nothing said about the true sources of the problem. Just telling Israel to back down. All the while the government of Iran is saying to the entire planet that it welcomes World War III!
The blue-capped buffoons at the United Nations are even less capable of defusing the situation than their predecessors in the League of Nations. Kofi Annan is more concerned with the lining of pockets and the disarming of law-abiding Americans than he is in taking any real action versus those nations who support, and the people who export, terrorism.
Even more terrifiying to me is what the response to these world events right here at home. For the most part America’s elected officials are more concerned about continuing to esculate the political strife and how to line their own pockets. All the while they do their level best to ignore the Will of ‘We the People’. Yet ‘We the People’ elected them to office. They say the words but refuse to take any action that might actually accomplish anything. ‘We the People’ elected them to office. ‘We the People’ are the targets of terrorist thugs here in America as well as around the world and the politicians would rather fight among themselves than fight terrorism where ever it rears its ugly head. They would rather allow our jobs to be taken by, allow our children to be molested by, allow our businesses to be robbed by, and innocent citizens to be murdered by illegal aliens pouring over our borders than to actually take a active measures and a hard line stance. They disgust me.
Then there is that part of the American citizenry that feels that no Freedom is worth fighting for under any circumstances. There is simply no term low enough to describe these cowards. Hollywood, for example, is infested with this type of sub-human. Though I know they will never read this blog and couldn’t possibly care less what a disabled and useless American such as The Bull thinks. For the record – and to make myself feel better – I’ll reprint once again the Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759, where Benjamin Franklin wrote: “They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
Did you note that year? 1759. Over a decade before our Revolution and the overthrow of tyranny and the statement was True. It was True nearly two centuries later when our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfather fought tyranny during both World Wars. Perhaps the HollyWeird types think that once our Rights and Freedoms are no more that they will become our new ruling class, our royalty. Perhaps it is that they have been far too coddled, had life too soft. Well, to quote ol’ Ben one more time: “We must hang together, gentlemen…else, we shall most assuredly hang separately.” I hope they can keep that in mind.
We are in a war. Not simply for oil, or for the freedom of some far away population, but for our Freedom and our very lives. We as a people should act in accordance to that reality.
Now I’m going silent on this topic. I’ll speak on it again if ther is something of real consequence to report. There is no use in harping on a war that hasn’t – yet – started. Especially when we are so early in the conflict that threatens. All we can do is keep an eye on things, make plans on what to do with Syria and Iran, and do some personal and governmental housekeeping right here at home.
Bull out.
