If you read this blog much you know I’m a shootist. It is bred in the bone. I’m also a big bore fan, (anything starting with a “.4″ or larger), and a single action nut. Yeah, that last bit is kind of odd these days when you consider that a single action is my carry gun of choice. Sue me. I love the feel of a single action, I grew up with one in my hand, and I can shoot it better than many cops can shoot their semi-autos. Perhaps not as quick, but nearly so – and far more accurately.

Anyhoo, my latest is this wonderful little Ruger New Vaquero, 4 5/8in., .45 Colt. She sure is sweet and has handled everything I’ve put through her so far with remarkable accuracy. Even now I’m working up loads using the awesome Penn Bullet 270gr. Thunderheads. Some 20% smaller in overall bulk than the older Ruger Vaqueros, this revolver fits my hands and is just that much lighter to pack along.
What is missing is a holster. You see, I shoot best left-handed despite being right-handed in every other way. My left eye is dominate. South-paw holsters are not that easy to find in the better-than-average quality I demand. To make things worse, I’m wanting something I’ve never seen: A molded Kydex, tension retension, lefty holster for a single action revolver for my everyday carry.
Has anyone out there even seen such a beast?
Does anyone reading this do custom work in Kydex and be willing to give it a shot?
Bull, out.
