Mustang Ridge City Council member Charles Laws referred to a proposed immigrant detention center as a “holding pen for wetbacks�? on the March 12 meeting agenda, MyFOXAustin.com reports.
When first asked for comment, Laws told the TV station, “I’m 74 years old, and that’s what we called them when I was growing up. I don’t care about political crap.”
Laws later softened his stance, saying, “I wasn’t thinking when I put it in there. I didn’t mean to offend anybody, I was just passing on the information.â€??
Mike Martinez, a city council member from nearby Austin, is leading the movement to remove Laws.
“When I asked him to explain himself, his explanation was ‘That’s what it is, and that’s what they are,’” said Martinez.
The Bull has said it before and I’ll say it again. Should someone come into this country LEGALLY, then it is The Bull’s most sincere wish that they make it to the top, get a million dollar idea, strike it rich, and live out the American Dream. Said person is a successful AMERICAN. Take as an example the owners of my favorite restaurants in Mobile. (I’m addicted to Tex-Mex food…) Legally immigrated to this great Nation, sought out a niche they could fill and have hit the big time with two stores open and packed everyday – and more opening soon! Ah, sweet success! That kind of immigration makes us all stronger.
On the other hand, should someone sneak in here ILLEGALLY then said person is a stinkin’ WETBACK and should be thrown bodily back across the border. These people contribute nothing. And don’t give me that tired old “they do the jobs Americans won’t do” horseshyte either! There is no such thing as a job Americans won’t do! Illegals do nothing for the United States of America. They often live like pigs – I’ve seen as many as 10 to a room. They refuse to learn the language of our land, don’t pay taxes, use up vital services meant for Citizens, and break our laws with impunity. And then the Liberal Left in this Nation expects us to welcome them with open arms?
Toss them. Build the damned wall, and arm the bloody thing with motion-seeking .30 caliber chain guns and land mines.
