What could possibly frighten The Bull?
Easy… The thought of trying to get a home loan.
Dear Readers, if you are honest with yourselves you will all admit to being, if not down right scared to death, at least horribly intimidated by the entire mortgage process.
You know the drill…
- Losing sleep over what you hear on the news about the economy.
- Trying to find someone who will listen to a real Human Being faced with real Human problems.
- Offering up all sorts of personal information for complete strangers to pour over in exquisitely painful detail.
- And, finally, the interminable wait for some person in a suit to either deem you ‘worthy’, or shoot down your hopes for the future.
Yeah. That could scare The Bull.
Except that I’ve managed to skip the first two conditions by:
- Understanding that the VAST majority of the economy woes in this Nation are driven by the media and a handful of scumbag speculators, and…
- finding a REAL Human Being who specializes in finding solutions to real-life issues and financial planning.
Believe me, after being paralyzed by spinal cord injuries immediately following a divorce and then going three and a half years with no income will do nasty things to one’s ability to get a load. Heck, since the turn of the Century I’ve been to broke to even pay attention! Oh, we get along even in our position, but I can’t help but think of how much better things could be… Now, will these folks actually be able to help The Bull get things settled around The Pasture in the way I want and on decent terms?
Honestly, it is FAR too soon to know. But ’scared’ I’m not! (A bit concerned and fairly eager? Yes.
Scared? No. )
Oh yeah, I guess you’d like to know who I’m trusting with this shot in the dark. It’s The Manders Group of Benchmark Mortgage here in Mobile, AL.
I first heard of The Manders Group while listening to “Ask The Expert” on News Radio 710 during one of my morning drives. That show come on right after one of my favorites, “The Uncle Henry Show” and when I heard the subject that day I continued to listen. Billy Manders made a heck of a lot of sense, and as he talked he planted a little seed of Hope in my mind.
It’s taken a while for that seed to grow to the point to where I’m willing to take a chance on it. Then again, after years of getting financially kicked in the teeth by both circumstance and a person that couldn’t manage to live on her own money & credit you do tend to say ‘Why bother?’ a lot. Perhaps too much.
I’ll keep you posted on how this all turns out. I may even make this a series so other folks can learn from my experiences &/or mistakes. Meanwhile, if you’re in the Mobile, AL area and are considering some sort of a “re-fi” like us, or are looking to buy a new home, why not visit the website of The Manders Group and see if they might be able to help you out.
It can’t hurt.
Bull, out!
