Seems to be a run on folks getting their gear or refunds from Terry at long last. My guess is that they got a tax refund and are trying to relieve some of the pressure that has been brought to bear by unsatisfied customers. The A.G.'s office seems to have helped a lot as well.

The Bull sincerely hopes that soon everyone with an outstanding order has it resolved to their satisfaction. At that point perhaps I can sleep a little better. Since the bad reports started coming in I have felt responsible for my reader's pain because I recommended O.B.L. on this blog.

Was contacted via email this morning. Civil communication. I opt for a full refund as during this lengthy ordeal I was diagnosted as having a incurable mobility limiting diease tied to my particpation in the SEA Games of '68 (our team came in second). The dream handgun hunts I had planned didn't pan out and the future at this point is bleak in that & several other aspects. At this point, I'll spend more time etc w/the grand children. I do wish I had rec'vd the product as promised back when I placed the order >2yrs ago. Plus there hasn't been any adverse quality reports but having it sitting there would probably bring back the bad side of this experience ~ at this point one would best be about getting along w/what life has in store. Hope it is over in the next 30 days as promised ~

Bull -

My order was placed with "Our Bandit Leather" in early May of 2006.

My order was received in late January of 2010.

I do not have exact dates, because I threw away all of the paperwork when my holster and magazine pouch finally arrived.

OnTarget,
When, exactly, was your order received and when, exactly, was you original date of order?

The one thing we have all ALWAYS agreed on is that Terry's leather work ranks among the best in the Country. I personally had NO issue with either his workmanship or his business practices. Sadly, my experience seems to be in the minority and that is how this thread got started.

Tom, my personal experiences with Terry were excellent - as was the quality of the work and timely execution of my order. In fact, I had high hopes of far more of buying his work. Especially a scabbard for my Winchester '94 Trapper.

The problem is that - for whatever reason - Terry did not bother to inform anyone else of his health issues until forced into doing so by legal threats from customers who had been waiting for years in some cases. Even now more & more customers are coming forward with dated correspondence and canceled checks showing how they have been ripped off for hundreds of dollars. In most cases their calls, letters, and emails simply go without reply.

As much as anyone I know what it is to be disabled. In 2002 I found myself suddenly paralyzed from mid-chest on down - with NO warning. Just woke up like that one morning! Yet life went on and my responsibilities along with it. I have offered Terry an opportunity - which is STILL OPEN - to post here and clear up any disputes &/or confusion. That offer has gone unaccepted.

Frankly, I don't see what other option the customers have other than filing legal action. If the state AG is involved the numbers of people effected must be higher than I thought.

Please allow me the opportunity to add my two cents worth to this discussion. I have been a customer of Our Bandit Leather for several years, during which time Terry Savanich has made numerous custom holsters for me. Terry has always been a dependable guy who delivered on what he promised. He always informed me of any problems or delays and let me know ahead of time that he would be shutting down his business due to health problems and completing remaining orders as his health situation permitted. I stumbled across this thread by chance a few days ago and e-mailed Terry to see what was going on. He promptly replied back, as courteous as ever, and assured me that my outstanding orders had not been forgotten and would be completed as soon as he felt up to it. Terry has never let me down with his work and I have no reason to believe that he will do so now. I have no personal, financial, or legal connection to Our Bandit Leather besides that of being a satisfied customer. Tom Shepherd

I called Monica Gregory at the Ohio A/G and left a message asking, "What's up since I last heard from you a month ago?" I received a reply with a 'new' offer of settlement from Terry . . .

Accept a new 'promise' (latest of 5 over past 2 yrs) of delivery of my order within 30 days "or" total refund of my money (all $291) within 30 days.

Much has changed in the past two years (including my 100% sevice connected disability now leaving me with 'much less' use of my legs) . . . so I opted for my money. And also because after '2 years' of non-delivery (awaiting) on a 4 month order . . . Terry is 'still demanding' another 'month'.

It just ain't of no use being wheelchair bound now much sooner than later.

Terry's final remark (of course!) was he thought a refund was 'best' also as I probably wouldn't appreciate it (his product/effort) anyway.

So 'latest' thru Ohio A/G . . . the 'check' is in the mail . . . ! Will post when/if it arrives.

I ordered a custom holster and magazine pouch from Our Bandit Leather in May of 2006. The order was paid when it was made. I got repeated promises of delivery, then delays due to health problems, then more promises of delivery followed by more health delays. I sent this matter to the Ohio Attorney Geberal about 60 days ago. All of a sudden I hear from Terry. He says he finally has his medications worked-out, he is feeling much better, and he will be shipping my order this week. I hope this proves to be the case.

I had the same problem. Custom holster and magazine pouch ordered in May of 2006 from Our Bandit Leather and no delivery, even though it was promised several times, then delayed due to more health problems, then promised again. I referred this matter to the Ohio Attorney General about 60 days ago. Now, I hear from Terry that he finally got his medication corrected, he is feeling much better, and he is filling the overdue orders. He says I can expect to receive the holster and pouch next week. I very much hope this is the case.

State of Ohio Attorney General's Office sent me a letter dated Dec 18th informing me that my (our?) case was taken over by an 'Investigator' in the Consumer Protection Section. They requested any/all info pertaining to my case be sent to them if not already done and gave me a real live person (investigator) to deal with via email or phone/fax. 'I' have called the Ohio A/G several times and talked to the person in charge at the time (Now Monica Gregory). If you have a complaint filed you (IMO) should 'call' and relate your ordeal with Terry Savanich of Our Bandit Leather verbally also . . . I've found these folks to be 'very good' listeners.

'Anyone' who is still waiting on a past due order with Terry and Gail Savanich can and should have a complaint filed with the Ohio A/G Consumer Division IMO. I've filed and been comtacted by them just recently. Basically they said that they had soooo many of the 'same story' complaints without 'any' real attempt by Terry/Gail to do much about 'the group' of them . . . and with no favorable result from their efforts to date with Terry/Gail either after all this time 'that' . . . they were going to 'continue on' with 'other' options they have available to them. www.SpeakOutOhio.gov Consumer Department
