Lt. Carlos Thompson, Mobile Co. Hero

Lt. Carlos Thompson, a Mobile County sheriff’s deputy with 17 years on the force, was listed in fair condition Friday night at the University of South Alabama Medical Center after he was shot several times during an exchange of gunfire with a robbery suspect at Old Military Road and Bowers Lane in south Mobile County.

As of late Friday night, Thompson was in fair condition according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson Jr., who also came to the scene, said the suspect’s weapon was an automatic long rifle. (Bull’s sources say an SKS 7.62×39mm)

He was quoted by Rhoda A. Pickett, (Staff Reporter of the Mobile Press Register), as saying that, from all indications, the shooting by the deputy was “…completely clean and an authorized use of a firearm. The officer had the authority to return fire in this situation. Our first concern is the health and safety of the officer.

The district attorney said the area was littered with numerous shell casings. “There were so many shots out there today that there were not enough letters in the alphabet to mark all the shell casings at the scene,” Tyson said.

Cochran, in a news release Friday night, stated, “Although the investigation is ongoing, we have determined Lt. Thompson demonstrated great bravery and courage under fire.

The Bull wants you to know that the bad guy, for those who care, died at the scene just like he should.

Our prayers go out for Lt. Carlos Thompson, his family, and for the other Law Enforcement officers of Mobile County. These incidents only serve to show them, and us, how dangerous the job can be. They have the full support and respect of this writer.
Bull, out.  End of Article

To Anthony Gilmore’s Sister, (I didn’t know the idiot’s name until just now…):

Lady, I’m sorry that your family is suffering a loss, but there is NO doubt in my mind that this isn’t the first, or even the second, time that Anthony Gilmore has caused your family pain.

This time, however, he chose to cause pain to others by a) committing armed robbery, b) opening fire on Law Enforcement officers that gave him ever opportunity to give up peacefully, and c) wounding one of the said officers in a blatant attempt to murder him!

So it sounds to The Bull that this clown, Anthony Gilmore, is better off dead. I know for damned sure the rest of us are better off with him that way!

Lady if you are really this guys sister I feel sorry for you that your brother was a criminal. Sorry for you that he choose to spend his life taking from others with no respect for them. Sorry that he cared so little about his family that he put himself into a situation that resulted in the LEO doing his job.

Other then that it is just another day in mine and your life. Your brothers life, well he made the decisions that put him in the grave and there is no one to blame but himself. All you can do now is remember the good times, and hope that somehow someone has learned from the situation, and your brother is in a better place.

May peace find you when you need it.

here’s to the speedy recovery of a brave lawman and the speedy trip to hell for the felon that shot him. What’s that old saying don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time or pay the price fron trying to murder an innocent citizen.
And to the “lady” I don’t really care how you feel- your brother was a scumbag felon and they all deserve to die. You should be ashamed and spend the rest of your life trying to make ammends on behafe of you brother, not lashing out at decent folks doing their duty to protect the innocent from your murderous brother.

Well, I wouldn’t go quite that far, Rob. The Bull has to be the first to admit that no one gets to pick their family. Sometimes a bad seed pops up even in the best of families. Yep, Anthony Gilmore deserved what he got, and his sister needs to come off this high horse of hers. That’s where I call it though.

i appreciate the fact that u all think i care about wut u r saying , yes i know what my brother did was wrong and if it was me i would shoot back too , but if you all think that it is funny when someone loses a much loved member of their family , no matter how much of a criminal he is , then you all can go fuck your selves

Lady, I wish you’d at least use your own name… and learn to spell… and develop your use of punctuation.

No, it isn’t funny when someone loses a brother. I know, I lost my brother a few years ago. That said, it is funny/relieving/nice when dirt-bag scum get what is coming to them. I’m sorry for you that your brother turned out to be that scum.

As for going and f*cking myself, I’m afraid that is still a physical impossibility despite my wife saying that I definitely have the necessary equipment for the job. Sorry! :-(

BTW: If you don’t care, why are you posting?

I just want to say nice shot to the deputy. He took a piece of trash thug off the street. I wish more robberies and violent crimes ended with the bad guy getting shot to death.

  • 9 JT Feb 8, 2007 at 1617

Matter of fact that deputy needs metal for getting this pieces of filth off the street. If that even is his sister that posted that first comment, your brother got what he deserved and didn’t need to waste the breath law abiding, working citizens breath. He was a complete waste of space.

JT, when you get done kissing The Bull’s ass, think about what you said. My opinion is [that] JT, you sound a little gay, don’t you think? Sorry, I just had to let you know that.

Could have fooled me as I had to once again edit your comment just to make it readable. Then again, you are no doubt a product of the current Gov’t school system.
