Military | The Bull Speaks!

Ever wonder why our military personnel are the finest around? Because they have guts. Grit & determination. Add that to the finest training and top-notch equipment and you have a combo that can’t be beat. (As long as the politicians stay out of their way, that is…)

Case in point, Fox News is reporting…

LEWISTON, Maine â€??? Army and Navy recruiters took one look at 330-pound Ulysses Milana and told him to forget about joining. “You’ve got to lose weight,” Milana remembers them saying.

But Marine recruiters were willing to work with him as he began his weight-loss journey in December 2007.

Now, 11 months later, Milana is 140 pounds lighter as he leaves Monday for Parris Island, S.C., to begin boot camp.

It wasn’t easy, Milana said, but he managed to slim down through exercise, healthier eating habits and forgoing an occasional beer after work. The 23-year-old said he even refused a beer at his going-away party Saturday night.

Milana said he always wanted to follow in his family’s footsteps by serving his country. His wife, Latoya, also comes from a military family.

I believe there is but one thing to left to say…

Semper Fi!

My parents told me about Mr. Common Sense early in my life and told me I would do well to call on him when making decisions. It seems he was always around in my early years, but less and less as time passed by until today when I read his obituary.

Please join me in a moment of silence in remembrance. For Common Sense served us all so well for so many generations.

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were lost long ago in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to ‘come in out of the rain‘, why ‘the early bird gets the worm‘, ‘life isn’t always fair‘, and ‘maybe it was my fault‘.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin, sun lotion, or a sticky plaster to a student, but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense began to lose the will to live as churches became businesses, criminals received better treatment than their victims, and the military became a political pawn.

Common Sense really took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your home and the burglar can sue you for assault if you did.

Common Sense finally expired after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion;, his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

Pall bearers included: ‘I Know My Rights‘, ‘Someone Else Is To Blame‘, ‘The Government Owes Me‘ and ‘I Am A Victim‘.

Not many attended the funeral because so few realized he was gone. I you still remember him you may wish to tell someone about his passing. If not, join the majority and do Nothing.

(Thanks, Pop!)

A well-known NASA astronaut says that we are definitely not, repeat, NOT alone!

During an interview with a UK radio station former NASA astronaut and moon-walker Dr. Edgar Mitchell, a veteran of the Apollo 14 mission, came flat out and said that aliens do exist and have visited our planet on numerous occasions but the alien contact has been repeatedly covered up by governments for “the last sixty years or so”.

Dr. Ed Mitchell

Dr. Mitchell said that the aliens that have visited look similar to the “small gray” aliens noted by those who have claimed to have seen them â€??? short, slight frame, large eyes and large head. He was also quick to point out that human technology is “not nearly as sophisticated” as the aliens’ and “had they been hostile we would be been gone by now.”

The Bull says that kind of obvious!

Mitchel went on to note how many Governments outside of the United States, (and The Bull would like to add Russia), have begun to release their UFO files to the public, including Mexico and several South American nations. The host also noted this and added that the UK Government is scheduled to make a complete exclosure of their information over the next four years.

It is sad that the US Government is still wired so bloody tight concerning this topic. Heck, even the Catholic Church has made a public statement that the belief in aliens does not endanger ones soul. Why? Are they privy to info we aren’t (yet)?

OH! So no one will say I’m being one sided here… NASA had the following statement:

“NASA does not track UFOs.
NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe.
Dr Mitchell is a great American, but we do not share his opinion on this issue.
Thanks for the opportunity to comment.”

This is, if I may interject my opinion here, the usual government-scripted statement that has been given out for years now when questioned on this topic…

You can listen to the interview with Dr. Mitchell – and the call to NASA made by the host – at this URL.

Well, folks… Where do YOU stand on these issues: (1) Life elsewhere, or not? (2) Intelligent life, or not? (3) Aliens visiting Earth, or not? And finally, (4) Government telling us the TRUTH, or not?

For The Bull, the answers are: (1) Yes. (2) Yes. (3) Most likely. And (4) “Our Government? In the US? Not a chance in hell!”.

Interesting story, eh?

Anyone paying attention can see how Boeing, having grown far too used to having its way with the Government, has turned into a cry-baby at having itself shown up in head-to-head competition. There are some strong opinions here in Mobile, AL concerning the USAF tanker issue. Have a look…

Ahh… The wonderful world of Politics! The same clowns that brought our troops the promise of no armor, food, or ammo until the Democrat-required defeat could be assured, (Thank the Stars that us good guys sorta won that one…). When it comes to the Military needs Congress should remember that its job is to decide what the Pentagon can afford to spend and appropriate the necessary funds, NOT to decide what the military needs.

While zipping along the Web The Bull ran across a bit of “artwork” that he had not seen since his days at the New London Sub Base in Groton, CT. (Make you date late 1980.) As I recall, it was posted in several locations on base from the classroom cork-board, to the head. I felt the need to share it with you, my Dear Readers.

Dear Civilians,
“We know that the current state of affairs in our great nation has many civilians up in arms and excited to join the military. For those of you who can’t join, you can still lend a hand. Here are a few of the areas where we would like your assistance:

  1. 1. The next time you see an adult talking (or wearing a hat) during the playing of the National Anthem—kick their ass.
  2. 2. When you witness, firsthand, someone burning the American Flag in protest—kick their ass.
  3. 3. Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while a disabled veteran kicks their ass.
  4. 4. (GUYS) If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that you were. Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDUs) or Jungle Fatigues, telling others that you used to be “Special Forces,” and collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been okay when you were seven years old. Now, it will only make you look stupid and get your ass kicked.
  5. 5. Next time you come across an Air Force member, do not ask them, “Do you fly a jet?” Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot. Such ignorance deserves an ass-kicking (children are exempt).
  6. 6. If you witness someone calling the US Coast Guard ‘non-military’, inform them of their mistake—and kick their ass.
  7. 7. Next time Old Glory (the US flag) prances by during a parade, get on your damn feet and pay homage to her by placing your hand over your heart. Quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky enough to be carrying her—of course, failure to do either of those could earn you a severe ass-kicking.
  8. 8. Don’t try to discuss politics with a military member or a veteran. We are Americans, and we all bleed the same, regardless of our party affiliation. Our Chain of Command is to include our Commander-In-Chief (CinC). The President (for those who didn’t know) is our CinC regardless of political party. We have no inside track on what happens inside those big important buildings where all those representatives meet All we know is that when those civilian representatives screw up the situation, they call upon the military to go straighten it out. If you keep asking us the same stupid questions repeatedly, you will get your ass kicked! (That said, we (& our families) do VOTE and have a fair memory of who supported us and who didn’t!)
  9. 9. ‘Your mama wears combat boots’ never made sense to me—stop saying it! If she did, she would most likely be a vet and therefore, could kick your ass!
  10. 10. Bin Laden and the Taliban are not Communists, so stop saying ‘Let’s go kill those Commies!’ And stop asking us where he is! Crystal balls are not standard issue in the military. That reminds me—if you see anyone calling those damn psychic phone numbers, let me know, so I can go kick their ass!
  11. 11. ‘Flyboy’ (Air Force), ‘Jarhead’ (Marines), ‘Grunt’ (Army), ‘Squid’ (Navy), ‘Puddle Jumpers’ (Coast Guard), etc., are terms of endearment we use describing each other. Unless you are a service member or vet, you have not earned the right to use them. That could get your ass kicked.
  12. 12. Last, but not least, whether or not you become a member of the military, support our troops and their families. Every Thanksgiving and religious holiday that you enjoy with family and friends, please remember that there are literally thousands of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen far from home wishing they could be with their families. Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they make every day. Without them, our country would get it’s ass kicked.

It is the Veteran, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.

It is the Veteran, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.

It is the Veteran, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the Military who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag. The protester burns that flag

Remember that.
