I try to keep up with the political goings-on in my home state of South Carolina. (Don’t get me started about that sickening display of Mark Sanford’s, but I do have a soft spot for another prominent fellow in ol’ SC who speaks his mind…) Here’s the latest from The Palmetto Scoop…

CHEROKEE COUNTY VOTERS ELECT REPUBLICAN IN HEAVILY DEMOCRATIC DISTRICT

It was the only election in America Tuesday night. And it gave Republicans one final win this year in the growing referendum against Barack Obama’s presidency.

Voters in Cherokee County elected a Republican to a county council seat never before held by the GOP.

Republican Tracy McDaniel crushed Democrat Thomas Moss in county council district seven with a stunning 61.2 percent of the vote.

“I’ll always do my best to study the issues, obtain the facts and make decisions on what is best for our citizens,” McDaniel told the Spartanburg Herald Journal prior to the election. “I know if we work together, we can make a difference for Cherokee County.”

Democrat James Batchler, who died in August, had held the seat for 40 years.

On the surface, McDaniel’s election may not seem significant. But a Republican win in a heavily Democratic district in South Carolina is symptomatic of eroding support for Obama and Democrats.

In November, voters in Virginia and New Jersey passed a similar anti-Obama referendum by electing Republican governors in states carried by the president during last year’s election.

I may be wrong. (It’s rare, but has happened before.) Methinks that the ‘Dems’ are going to have their hands full next year unless some freakin’ miracle occurs. This story doesn’t seem like much to most of you, I know, but you would have to understand the area. Republicans in Cherokee County have always been considered as being from the wrong side of the tracks.

BMCM Harold B. Estes, USN (Ret.) Speaks to Obama

Here is an email letter circulating the Internet. The validity has been confirmed by via Snopes.com.

(This venerable and much honored WW II vet is well known in Hawaii for his seventy-plus years of service to patriotic organizations and causes all over the country. A humble man without a political bone in his body, he has never spoken out before about a government official, until now. He dictated this letter to a friend, signed it and mailed it to the President.)

Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don’t believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos’n Mate. Now I live in a “rest home” located on the western end of Pearl Harbor, allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.

So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish. I can’t figure out what country you are the President of. You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:

” We’re no longer a Christian nation”

” America is arrogant” – (Your wife even announced to the world,”America is mean-spirited. ” Please tell her to try preaching that nonsense to 23 generations of our war dead buried all over the globe who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.)

I’d say shame on the both of you, but I don’t think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said, “America hasn’t lived up to her ideals.”

Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal Liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win Independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn’t mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for Freedom.

I don’t think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.

Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don’t, I’ll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue. You were elected to lead. Not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don’t want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts, who was putting up a fight? You don’t mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don’t want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you’re the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you’re not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you’re thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.

You’re not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That’s not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.

And I sure as hell don’t want to think my President is the enemy in this final battle.

An Alabama Senator is a Traitor

Yep. I’ve praised him, right here on this blog and at the polls. When I had serious issues with the Veterans Administration, it was this Senator that had it all straightened out by the end of business that same day.

Despite all of that, The Bull now declares that all, and I mean ALL, support for Senator Richard Shelby is hereby ended. Why? Because neither I, nor any of my Herd, will support a TRAITOR to the American cause.

NO Shelby for Alabama!

At a time when my beloved Nation is on the verge of total bankruptcy our senator voted for the latest spending bill which includes a 10% across the board increase (above inflation) – and - over five thousand (5000) earmarks in pork barrel spending. Yep, you read that right. F-I-V-E T-H-O-U-S-A-N-D earmarks! This senator is completely addicted to pork, and for that Sen. Shelby needs to be recalled by Alabamians.

Sadly, Senator ‘Porky Pig’ Shelby has amassed a simply enormous war-chest, (no doubt much of it from special interest groups that support his spending addiction), which will require an intervention on the part of Deity to remove the man from office. For the moment, that is…

Organization takes time, but the grassroots effort to replace this ‘little piggy’ with a real Conservative American has begun!

Until he is gone, the pork-addicted senator from Alabama will, from this point forward, be printed on this blog in the color of dried blood. The blood of Americans that are being raped by run-away spending and the blood of the Patriots who gave all for our Liberties which these worthless politicians laugh at as they carve up the Constitution piece-meal. This man has become a disgrace. A cheap, disgusting R.I.N.O. who was bought & paid for with a small pork project for his home town! Dingy Harry Reid and Dems Go Too Far – Again!

Today, December 7th, yet another infamous thing has occurred. This time right here on American soil by one of our elected officials!

‘Dingy Harry’ Reid, (as Limbaugh calls him, and I’m NOT a huge fan of Rush), leader of the Senate DemocRATS said that Republican who oppose the proposed health care reform package are like those who opposed civil rights for blacks in this country. Let me be the first to remind the esteemed idiot from the sin-State of Nevada that it was the Democrats that opposed the end to slavery, opposed civil rights, and that it was a Republican – indeed, the first Republican President, and one your ’savior’, Obama, adores – that ended slavery by the Emancipation Proclamation, one Abraham Lincoln.

You may remember reading about him, Mr. Reid. Assuming, of course, that you can read. From what we know to date you refuse to read any bill placed before you which leaves us all with a reason to wonder.

All British to be given personal ‘carbon allowance’

Yeah… You read that right.

There is a plan in the works for all British citizens to be given a unique I.D. number tying said citizen to a personal ‘carbon allowance’. Quoting from a story on Telegraph.co.uk:

Lord Smith of Finsbury believes that implementing individual carbon allowances for every person will be the most effective way of meeting the targets for cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

It would involve people being issued with a unique number which they would hand over when purchasing products that contribute to their carbon footprint, such as fuel, airline tickets and electricity.

Like with a bank account, a statement would be sent out each month to help people keep track of what they are using.

If their “carbon account” hits zero, they would have to pay to get more credits.

Those who are frugal with their carbon usage will be able to sell their unused credits and make a profit.

The REAL cause of ‘Global Warming’!

‘His Pin-Headship’, the Lord Smith, plans to call for the scheme to be part of a “Green New Deal” to be introduced within 20 years when he addresses the agency’s annual conference on Monday. Meanwhile, some un-named ‘Environment Agency spokesman’ was reported to have said that “…only those with extravagant lifestyles would be affected by the carbon allowances“. Sound familiar? “Extravagant lifestyles”, riiiight! Those of us who have not yet buried our heads in the sand know how that will work out. The tax threshold will drop year-by-bloody-year until every single citizen of the UK is under the thumb and paying their hard-earned Euros into a governmental slush fund. All in the name of the psudo-science of ‘Global Warming’ – an idea that is coming apart at the seams on a daily basis as the true facts come to light.

If our friends across the pond were to take a close look at how our “New Deal” has turned out, then they would run – not walk – out into the streets and burn these liberal morons in Parliment in effigy.

Given the current state of leadership, (or should The Bull say “non-leadership”), in the United States it is only a matter of time until the same is proposed by one of our ‘esteemed’ Nobel Prize winners – All Gore or B. H. Obama. That is what really turns my stomach!

America IS awakening to the dangers of these Liberal idiots. Perhaps we will fully awaken in time. Perhaps not. Sadly, it looks to be too late for the United Kingdom. (I hope they prove me wrong!)

ACORN: Can’t Steal Directly – Can Sue America

In an article on Fox News Online this morning it was revealed that the scum-bag thieves we have all come know know and despise as ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) have decided that since they have been stopped in the majority of their scemes to rob the American tax-paying public blind that they will simply sue the U.S. (read as “us”) for all the millions of dollars they have ‘lost’.

Representatives for ACORN sued the federal government Thursday morning in an attempt to regain the millions of dollars in funding the community organizing group lost after filmmakers videotaped its workers offering advice on how to commit tax fraud and various other felonies.

The suit charges Congress with violating the Constitution when it passed legislation in September that specifically targeted ACORN to lose federal housing, education and transportation funds.

That qualifies the legislation as bills of attainder, according to the Center for Constitutional Rights, which filed the suit on behalf of ACORN. A bill of attainder punishes a person or group without the benefit of a trial, and is illegal under Article 1 of the Constitution.

Congress began cracking down on its funding to ACORN after its employees were secretly videotaped in a number of cities offering to help a man and woman posing as a pimp and prostitute to lie to the IRS and acquire illegal home loans.

Footage showed staffers advising the “pimp” and “prostitute” on how to falsify tax forms and seek illegal benefits for 13 “very young” girls from El Salvador that the pair said they wanted to bring to the country to work as child prostitutes. The videos set off a firestorm in Congress. [more]

Well, you have to admit it, these thieves have balls! Personally, I don’t think they have a chance. The folks running ACORN ought to just be glad that they are not (yet) in prison! Considering the ‘Islamic Idiot’ now occupying the White House and the jack-booted morons running the House & Senate, who knows! ACORN is likely to receive TARP money or be given a leading seat on the soon-to-be-formed ‘Death Care‘ administration by Pelosi, Reid, & Obama!

Folks, get on the damned phone and call your representatives in Washington and complain. Complain daily – about this, the healthcare reform, and all the other stupid-assed stuff flying around inside the beltway. The threat of losing power is the one and only thing these guys respond to – then throw them out anyway come the 2010 elections. We can’t get them all in 2010, but we can get enough to make the difference between having our Freedom or losing it.

The Bull and Obama Agree! Trail Maids Rock!

Yes, it is true. (…and perhaps the world is coming to an end…).

The Bull and Barack H. Obama, (or at least his Inaugural Committee), agree that – despite the objections falling from the foaming mouth of the rabid Alabama NAACP leader, one Edward Vaughn – the Mobile County Azalea Trail Maids will make a wonderful, not to mention beautiful, addition to a truly historic Inauguration.

Vaughn, in one of his more pitiful attempts at continued relevancy, made the comment that the Trail Maids should stay home on Inauguration Day, claiming the group reminds him of slavery. “These are not just regular costumes.” Vaughn said, “These are the costumes that remind someone of the plantation in Gone with the Wind.” Vaughn went on to say the group would be the laughing stock of the Inauguration.

Other folks, both black and white, seem to disagree with the Alabama NAACP leader. “I don’t see what the dresses have to do with racism. I don’t see it. It’s just a regular dress to me. Just a dress they wore back in the day,” said Carolyn Tius of Montgomery. Mobile County Commissioner Stephen Nodine said, “We want everyone to know that these young ladies do not need to be identified with slavery.”

This year’s 50 Trail Maids number 38 Caucasian young ladies with the remaining number being minorities. With that ratio I am hard pressed to see how someone, (even someone as deranged as Vaughn), can possibly find this wonderful organization in any way “racist”.

Since the 1920’s fifty young women from High Schools around the county are chosen to represent Mobile. Thousands of young women of all races apply each year for the 50 positions. They design and make their own intricate dress, costing between $3000 and $5000 each. They wear these beautiful, yet exceedingly heavy and hot costume dresses for a year, traveling around the county and even the Country representing Mobile and dealing with the tropical Mobile heat & humidity. It is challenging, expensive, and yet rewarding for the girls and their families. How does The Bull know? Because my beloved bride, Lady Beth, was a Trail Maid in 1994-95.

Yep, The Bull is a very fortunate man – as the above photo proves. But I digress…

Though they were caught by surprise by the invitation to the Inauguration, the Azalea Trail Maids will parade in Washington D.C. on January 20th. The Azalea Trail Maids show all that is good and proper about Mobile, Alabama, and the South. They show hospitality, civility, kindness, and consideration for others. They welcome distinguished visitors to our fair Home and guide many on tours of our land and explain our deep-rooted traditions. Indeed, to have the Trail Maids meet you at your arrival is considered a great honor.

It seems that Barack H. Obama understands that honor, and perhaps some of those traditions, even though he is not a Southerner.

It is a real shame that the Alabama NAACP and Edward Vaughn do not.

Pirates: Sink Them Faster!

NEW DELHI â€??? An Indian naval vessel sank a suspected pirate “mother ship” Wednesday in the Gulf of Aden and chased two attack boats into the night, officials said, yet more violence in the lawless seas where brigands are becoming bolder and more violent.

Piracy on the High Seas. It didn’t die out with Blackbeard, nor with the War of 1812 when the British Royal Navy was acting, (quite literally), as a pirate. It has always been an issue somewhere on this globe since man first took to the ocean in boats. Where ever valuable goods traveled on the lonely seas, there too were the thieves. I suspect that it will remain so as long as we continue to sail. If ever space travel becomes commonplace there is no doubt that piracy will soon follow.

The Bull is certain that the good ~~hippies~~, er, people in California will say that to avoid anyone getting hurt the best idea is for us regular folk and peace-loving Nations to simply stop using the World’s oceans for travel and commerce. Furthermore, I’m satisfied that the Obama Administration would rather negotiate with the pirates. The sad fact is that the only way to deal with pirates is to hunt them down, sink their vessels, and hang the survivors, (if any). The current crop of sea-faring sub-humans operating in the Gulf of Aden is no exception.

Enter the brave sailors aboard the good ship INS Tabar…

A multicoalition naval force has increased patrols in the region, and scored a rare success Tuesday when the Indian warship, operating off the coast of Oman, stopped a ship similar to a pirate vessel mentioned in numerous piracy bulletins. The Indian navy said the pirates fired on the INS Tabar after the officers asked it to stop to be searched.

“Pirates were seen roaming on the upper deck of this vessel with guns and rocket propelled grenade launchers,” said a statement from the Indian navy. Indian forces fired back, sparking fires and a series of onboard blasts â€??? possibly due to exploding ammunition â€??? and destroying the ship.

Fine work! Congrats to the commander and crew of INS Tabar on hunting down and eliminating this one nest of vermin. There are more out there – indeed, too many – and my gut tells me we will hear more from the Indian Navy and the fine ship Tabar. In fact, the Indian Navy was cited in the same story for another recent action against the pirates…

Last week, Indian navy commandos operating from a warship foiled a pirate attempt to hijack a ship in the Gulf of Aden. The navy said an armed helicopter with marine commandos prevented the pirates from boarding and hijacking the Indian merchant vessel.

Excellent! Simply excellent!

Of course, with the pirates currently holding some seventeen vessels along with more than 300 crew members, not to mention a Ukrainian ship loaded with weapons and a Saudi Arabian supertanker carrying $100 million in crude oil, this is no time to slow down for a party. Indeed, we need to be asking: “Where the hell are the World’s other Navies at a time like this?” What is the U.S. 5th Fleet doing? Sure, they patrol. I agree that patrols show little success considering the sheer size of the planet’s oceans. No one can know where the pirates will be on any given day. The thing is that pirates have to make port somewhere in order to sell their ill-gotten gains and we do know those locations.

The Bull submits that every ocean-going Nation on the planet should dispatch a minimum of two frigates, preferably gun-equipped over the guided missile versions, to the Gulf of Aden. A pair of carriers would be good, too. Further, in the interest of global relations, I submit that the combined fleet be commanded overall by any nation other than the United States. The only caveat being that the Fleet Commander must have experience in carrier operations if such vessels are included. Once the Fleet is combined, then it should be open season on pirates.

Election 2008 & More (Updated!)

Today is the day.

For what, only time will tell.

If you’ve been wondering where The Bull has been, I’ve been deliberately staying off this blog during the end of the election cycle. Too much drama with no chance of great return regardless of who wins. Granted, IMNSHO, America would be better off with McCain over Obama. The fact remains that I am but one man – one vote. There is a good chance that I’ll be in the minority this election. I decided that I would accept that loss, should it come, with grace & dignity. Something that I predict we will not see from the Left whether they win or lose. All The Bull really cares for is the future of this beloved Nation of my birth.

There are two things that have come from all of this… For the first time in ages I found myself up at 3AM and in Circle, praying as we Pagans do, not for a win today but rather for the future and for guidance for myself. Why guidance? Because I am considering throwing my Balmoral bonnet into the ring for a local school board election. Watching the disgusting display of this election cycle has shown me that I must become more personally involved for I damned sure can’t count on the morons currently in office nor the power-hounds that want the offices to get the job done.

Like Grandpa Homer said, “If you want it done right then you’ve got to do it yourself”.

I also want to take a moment before I close this post to address an email from oe of my dearest & best friends, Nancy Gail. She wrote me a while back taking me lightly to task for my oft stated stance on Muslims. She wrote, and I quote:

To reply: Happily, dear Gail! Happily! For this is not so much a story of a Muslim as it is the story of an American. More, an American Hero. Kareem Rashad Sultan Khan was what all Americans should be. He was also what all Muslims should be, but sadly are not. My complaint about Islam is that it is a religion full of blind followers. People willing to murder children – even their own – because a guy in a cleaner towel told them so. And as I’ve also said, Muslims as a group can not and must not be trusted until they start to police themselves and stop their murderous ways. Khan was the perfect example of what a Muslim can and should be. He prayed devoutly. He followed the spirit of his Faith, and he shunned the bitter extremist of Islam.

Kareem Rashad Sultan Khan was killed by an improvised explosive device in August 2007 along with four other soldiers and an Iraqi interpreter while searching a house in Baqouba, Iraq. The Bull salutes his memory and his surviving family for their supreme sacrifice for the Freedoms we enjoy (at least until Jan.21, 2009) here in America.

When you think about the huge advances made in the evolution of Civilization by Muslims in the past it really is a damned shame how low they have fallen as a people.

UPDATE: I voted today at 11:30AM among a huge crowd at the Tillman’s Corner, AL Community Center. In speaking with the crowd outside it appears that the Conservatives are doing well in our wee corner of Alabama. Of course, the day is young and this is one seriously volatile election cycle. I took my 14yr. old son son along with me to the polls so he could see the process in action, up close & personal. Jake was amazed at the complexity of the ballot in Alabama. Here we vote for various justices as well as a myriad of State constitutional issues – even those concerning far away counties. Hard to believe, but in the next Presidential election my son will be voting right along side The Bull. At least now he will know how…

SCHOOL — 1957 vs. 2007:
Scenario: Jack goes squirrel hunting before school, pulls into school parking lot with shotgun in gun rack.
1957- Vice Principal comes over, looks at Jack’s shotgun, goes to his car and
gets his shotgun to show Jack.
2007- School goes into lock down, FBI called, Jack hauled off to
jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for
traumatized students and teachers.

Scenario:Johnny and Mark get into a fistfight after school.
1957 – Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up buddies.
2007 – Police called, SWAT team arrives, arrests Johnny and Mark. Charge
them with assault, both expelled even though Johnny started it.

Scenario: Jeffrey won’t be still in class, disrupts other students.
1957 – Jeffrey sent to office and given a good paddling by the Principal.
Returns to class, sits still and does not disrupt class again.
2007 – Jeffrey given huge doses of Ritalin. Becomes a zombie. Tested for
ADD. School gets extra money from state because Jeffrey has a disability.

Scenario: Billy breaks a window in his neighbor’s car and his Dad gives him a whipping
with his belt.
1957 – Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college,
and becomes a successful businessman.
2007 – Billy’s dad is arrested for child abuse. Billy removed to foster
care and joins a gang. State psychologist tells Billy’s sister that she

Scenario: Mark gets a headache and takes some aspirin to school.
1957 – Mark shares aspirin with Principal out on the smoking dock.
2007 – Police called, Mark expelled from school for drug violations. Car
searched for drugs and weapons.

Scenario: Pedro fails high school English.
1957 – Pedro goes to summer school, passes English, goes to college.
2007 – Pedro’s cause is taken up by state. Newspaper articles appear
nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation
is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against state school system and
Pedro’s English teacher. English banned from core curriculum. Pedro given
diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he cannot speak
English.

Scenario: Johnny take s apart leftover firecrackers from 4th of July, puts them in a
model airplane paint bottle, blows up a red ant bed.
1957 – Ants die.
2007- BATF, Homeland Security, FBI called. Johnny charged with domestic
terrorism, FBI investigates parents, siblings removed from home, computers
confiscated, Johnny’s Dad goes on a terror watch list and is never allowed

TRUTH, all of it. Sad, sad, truth about the Nation I love so much. Daily I see living examples of what someone somewhere meant as an internet joke. Worse, I see my fellow Americans being force-fed shit from the stinking hands of people like Soros and Obama. I see the people who were supposed to be on our side, (yes, I’m talkin’ about Dubya here…), trying to steal away our Constitutional Rights under the guise of “public safety”.

Why Is Obama Hiding His Family?

We all know all there is to know about that great and masterful, (near messianic), Presidential candidate, Barack H. Obama, right?

Right?

Maybe not. Frankly, The Bull has problems with anyone that attempts to hide their family. Any family! Sure, we all have someone in our family that isn’t exactly up to ’snuff socially’. That is the very nature of Family.

Granted, I have all kinds of problems with Obama. From his record, to his eligibility , to the denial of his Muslim background. Heck, about the only thing I don’t hold against the guy is is race! What burns me up most of all is a story in the UK paper The Independent concerning Barack’s younger brother, George Hussein Onyango Obama. It is certainly worth the read, though I predict that the story will get little to no press in the United States from the ‘drive by’ media.

I urge you to go read what is posted there. I’ll not copy their story, but I will quote one paragraph, though…

He will not, in other words, be by his brother’s side in Colorado enjoying reflected adulation. “No one knows who I am,” he told the magazine, saying he is too embarrassed to admit to anyone that the man running for the White House in America is his half-brother because of his abject penury. “If anyone says something about my surname, I say we are not related. I am ashamed.”

It takes a scumbag to hide his own brother.

Understanding the Muslim Filth

Actually, the title of this post is misleading for there is no way that a normal, sane Human Being can understand the filth that is the Muslim mind. We are all aware of the Islamic ideal of growing up to be a mass-murderer. However, we almost always associate these horrid attacks with the followers of Islam attacking the supposed “Infidel”, like The Bull, (a proud Infidel who is eagerly awaiting a Muslim to try his luck.). What you don’t think of on a daily basis is how these scum-sucking monsters attack their own families! Hell, I knew it went on, but it wasn’t until I saw this morning’s news story that it really sank in. It wasn’t the pictures – in fact I didn’t look at them until I decided to write this blog – it was the stories of the victims.

Meet Saira Liaqat, age: 26. Saira married her husband early via arrangement. He would later attack her after insistently demanding her to live with him, although the families had agreed she wouldn’t join him until she finished school. Saira has undergone plastic surgery nine (9) times to try to recover from her scars.

According to Liaqat and a lawyer for her case, she was married in her teens, on paper, to a relative, but the families had agreed she wouldn’t live with him until she finished school. Within months, though, the man started demanding she join him.

One day at the end of July 2003, he showed up at their house with a package. He asked her to get him some water. He followed her to the kitchen, and as she turned around with the water, she says, he doused her with the acid. It seared much of her face, blinded her right eye, and seriously weakened her left one.

Liaqat shakes her head when recalling how a few days before the incident she found a small pimple on her face and threw a fit. After she was burned, her parents at first wouldn’t let their daughter look at a mirror. But eventually she saw herself, and she’s proud to say she didn’t cry.

“Once we had a wedding in the family. I went there and all the girls were getting dressed and putting on makeup. So that time, I felt a pain in my heart,” she says. “But I don’t want to weaken myself with these thoughts.”

Her husband is in prison as the attempted murder case against him proceeds. The two are still legally married.

Still married. Another common Islamic horror that women are forced to endure. The other stories are equally heartbreaking…

I’ve said it before and I say it again now: There may be good people that follow Islam. However, the fact that no Muslim, not one, makes an effort to police out the monsters. Hell, they call these freaks heroes and martyrs! Until Islam makes at least some effort to stop the mass murders, stop maimings like these that are considered “ok” by the religious leaders, and join the rest of the World in the 21st Century, then we have no choice but to watch Islam as a whole with high suspicion and defend ourselves and our children (especially our daughters) with the utmost in force.

The choice is clearly in the hands of the Muslims.
